Ebrima
Ebrima is 5 years old and has Down syndrome but no physical disabilities. He can feed himself, move freely, and vocalises to express his needs, even if not always clearly. He is a lively, sociable child with enormous potential.
But until he was introduced to us, Ebrima’s days were largely unsupervised. His mother leaves for the market as early as 6am, and Ebrima was left in the care of neighbours who often had no idea where he was. He roamed freely, exposed to the dangers and cruelties that too often find children like him.
Through Orchard House, we hope to give Ebrima the safety, structure, and education he deserves, and to give his mother the peace of mind that her son is somewhere he is known, valued, and looked after.
