Sheikh Tijan
Sheikh Tijan is 3 years old and has autism and cerebral palsy. Before coming to us, he had spent almost his entire life lying in bed indoors, with his family having no access to therapists or support of any kind. He cannot feed himself, sit unaided, or change position without help.
Despite the isolation and the absence of resources, his mother and sisters have never left his side. Through every difficulty, the discrimination, the labels, the crushing uncertainty about the future, they have remained devoted to him.
Through Orchard House, we hope to give Sheikh Tijan what he has been denied: therapy, movement, connection with other children, and the tools to begin communicating with the world. His mother has given him love without limit. We hope to give him the rest.
